What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a medicinal practice that began 3,000 years ago and is a branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
During acupuncture, thin, single use, sterile needles are inserted into the body at specific points to access the body's meridians (i.e. pathways).
Today, acupuncture is used around the world to treat various health conditions.

Acupuncture works by balancing the body’s vital energy, or Qi, which flows through pathways in your body called meridians.
When the needle is inserted into your skin, Qi moves through those meridians and your body releases natural, pain-relieving chemicals.
Acupuncture can also reduce other symptoms like:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Fatigue
- Sleep disturbances
